Marina Cosmas is the Sophomore Class President at Jonathan Law. Advocate Editor-In-Chief Alexandra Oliveira interviewed Cosmas about the school year.

Alexandra Oliveira: What are your goals for the upcoming school year?

Marina Cosmas: My biggest goal is to make this a fun and memorable year for our class. I also want to encourage more students to get involved, make sure everyone’s ideas are heard, and plan events that bring our class together.

AO: What fundraising events are you planning to do?

MC: We’re planning to have different fundraisers throughout the year, such as food sales, spirit events, and other activities that students can participate in. We want to make fundraising enjoyable while raising money for our class and future events. We are trying to push for a student vs. staff volleyball game, but we are waiting to have a meeting about it.

AO: How are you planning to prepare for the Ring Dance?

MC: We’re going to start planning early and work with the rest of the student council to organize things like music and the price. We want to make sure the Ring Dance is an event that everyone can enjoy.

AO: How can people find out about upcoming events, updates, or plans?

MC: Students can stay updated through school announcements, social media, and information shared by the student council. We’ll also make sure to remind everyone about upcoming events and important dates.

AO: What’s the most rewarding part of being a part of student government?

MC: The most rewarding part is being able to represent my class and make a difference in our school. It’s also rewarding to see students enjoy the events and activities that we worked together to plan.
