McKenzie Forte is the Senior Class President at Jonathan Law. Advocate Editor-In-Chief Aislyn McKernan interviewed Forte about the school year. 

Aislyn McKernan: What are your goals for the upcoming school year?

McKenzie Forte: My goals for the upcoming school year are to strengthen our class spirit, increase participation in school events such as Homecoming, and to make sure every student feels heard and represented.

AM: Are you planning any events for this upcoming year?

MF: Yes, I’m planning several events such as spirit weeks, Homecoming, Prom, and our senior trip to Six Flags. So far, we have our Six Flags tickets at about $60, but we plan to lower it (hopefully) to $30 with the help of our fundraising efforts.

AM: What challenges have you faced in past years?

MF: The biggest challenge I’ve faced has been trying to find a balance between everyone’s different ideas and packed schedules. Meetings were difficult to plan and events were extremely hard to organize. But, those experiences just taught me how important it is to communicate and stay organized alongside the members of our 2027 Student Council. Without challenges, there is no growth, so I am very appreciative of what I have learned through being Class President these past few years. 

AM: How can people find out about upcoming events, updates, or plans?

MF: Students can find out about events through the 2027 Google Classroom, the 2027 GroupMe, or our Class of 2027 Instagram account. If anyone has any questions about upcoming events, they are more than welcome to ask me or any other Student Council member for more information. 

AM: What is the most rewarding part of being Class President? 

MF: The most rewarding part of being Class President is being able to see our class coming together in such unique ways. Additionally, I love being able to be involved in events that students will remember long after graduation. Making an impact means a lot to me, so I hope I am able to do that for each and every student at Jonathan Law.
