This school year, Jonathan Law welcomes a new science teacher – Mr. Burwasser.

Bringing his expertise to the classroom, Burwasser will teach Physics and Chemistry.

“I am excited to teach Physics because I’ve been doing it for nine years,” Burwasser said. “It’s a lot of fun, and I absolutely love the opportunities it gives students to ask deep questions about their everyday lives.”

Burwasser looks forward to meeting and working with everyone at Law, and expresses his love for education as a whole.

“Truthfully, I’ve loved science for as long as I can remember,” Burwasser said. “As for teaching, my first job in high school was a tutor at the public library in Philadelphia. That’s where I discovered my love for education.”

Junior RJ Vercellone shared his thoughts on Burwasser’s teaching style.

“We’re a week into school and he already set up a lab for us,” Vercellone said. “He’s really cool and a fun teacher.”

Burwasser has been interested in science from a young age.

“Not only was one of my grandfathers a chemist, but the other was a statistician for the Center of Disease Control and Prevention, so I got the science bug from both sides,” Burwasser said.

Burwasser is excited to get involved with the Jonathan Law community.

“I’ve been treated with so much kindness from both staff and students,” Burwasser said. “I’m very much looking forward to getting to know even more of the Law community.”
