As the Jonathan Law football team returns to the field, senior Jackson King also makes his return to football after being sidelined for almost a year.

Last year, King suffered an ACL tear just two games into the season which would ultimately bring his junior year to an end. Suffering an injury of that severity could be very draining both physically and mentally, but King tried to stay positive.

“The hardest part was being away from the game and having to be patient,” King said. “I wanted to get out there with my teammates, but I knew I had to trust the process and take my time.”

There is a lot of work and patience that goes into returning from an ACL tear.

“I want to come back strong, stay healthy, and contribute as much as possible,” King said. “Our team goal is to compete for a championship and make a deep playoff run.”

King’s return will be a big boost to Law’s defensive line.

“Having Jackson back on the line is important for us not only physically, but from a mental standpoint as well,” Defensive Coordinator Joseph DeVellis said.

King’s presence is not only felt amongst the coaching staff but also with his teammates around him.

“Having Jackson back is huge for our defense because he is a leader on the defensive line and is a workhorse for us.” senior Alex Konlian said.

King is excited to be back and eager to get back to doing what he loves most.
