Jonathan Law officially welcomes new Spanish teacher Mrs. DeVore this school year.
Although DeVore is a new teacher in the Law community, she isn’t new to teaching.
“I have been working as a teacher for a long time. I taught Kindergarten in French in Manhattan for many years,” DeVore said. “I started my teaching career as an ESL teacher in a middle school in the Southeast of France a long time ago – 1986.”
In less than a month, DeVore has already left a good impression at Law.
“She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our school,” Law Principal Mr. Darcy said. “She has a positive energy and you can see it right away in her classes.”
DeVore is enthusiastic about teaching and genuinely enjoys helping students learn.
“I love teaching two small groups of students who are willingly participating in class at Jonathan Law,” DeVore said.
DeVore has already left a positive impression on her students so far this school year.
“I like her,” senior Laylah Torres said. “She’s very sweet and is good at getting students to speak Spanish aloud and engage with the class.”
DeVore is confident that her students will do great in her class and grow their Spanish-speaking abilities.
“I know these students will do very well in class this year,” DeVore said. “I can’t wait to hear my students express themselves in Spanish more and more.”
