Jonathan Law officially welcomed a new Drama Club Director, Ms. Gdula for the 2026-2027 school year.

Prior to coming to Law, Gdula had various jobs within the realm of the performing arts, namely being a Walt Disney Imagineer, a teacher at a professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan, and a technical director at various theatres across the United States.

Jonathan Law Principal Mr. Darcy shared his positive outlook on Gdula’s arrival to the Drama program.

“Ms. G. brings a wealth of experiences in theatre arts,” Darcy said. “She will connect with students and families to expand the opportunities we provide to our students. Her leadership will improve the experience and quality of our performances.

For her first year as Law’s Drama Director, Gdula hopes for more student involvement and a successful production.

“This year I would like to get more students involved in the drama program and specifically the technical side of things,” Gdula said. “I’m hoping for a successful production and a happy group of students!”

Over the years, the Drama Club has had numerous directors put on productions at Law. This year, however, Senior Drama Club President Ava Daniele believes the change will bring positive outcomes, particularly in the technical aspect of the club.

“We have had many directors for the Drama Club and each of them have brought many different things to the success of the club,” Daniele said. “I believe, under the direction of Ms. G., the Drama Club will have a lot of improvement in our lighting, sets, and run crew due to her experience as an Imagineer.”

Senior Drama Club member Kamaya Mittoo has high hopes for the club this year.

“I think it will change by (Gdula’s) great efforts and it would hopefully be a change in the environment,” Mittoo said. “I think she is interesting in a mysterious way and seems to have good plans.”

Junior Drama Club member Janelle Dimaya shared what she hopes she and the new director can accomplish this year.

“I hope we can work with Ms. G. to fundraise and build our choral harmonies,” Dimaya said. “I always adore the musical aspect of our spring show and want to help lead vocal parts this year.”
