Jonathan Law Class of 2026 graduate Molly Croce has begun her first year at the University of Connecticut, majoring in Animal Science and following a pre-veterinary track.

Croce has been enjoying her experience at UConn and is adjusting to the changes that come with college. After developing an interest in veterinary medicine during high school, she is now continuing to work toward her goal of becoming a veterinarian.

“I chose Animal Science because I have always loved animals and knew I wanted to work with them in the future,” Croce said. “The pre-vet track gives me the classes and experience I need to eventually apply to veterinary school.”

Croce’s interest in veterinary medicine grew during her time at Law, especially through her internship at Milford Animal Hospital. The experience allowed her to learn more about working with animals and gave her an idea of what a career in veterinary medicine could look like.

“My internship at Milford Animal Hospital helped me realize that being a veterinarian is something I could see myself doing,” Croce said. “It gave me experience working with animals and showed me what the job is really like.”

Croce has also enjoyed getting to experience college life and meeting new people at UConn.

“My favorite part of college so far is being able to meet new people and experience things that I wouldn’t have been able to in high school,” Croce said.

Although college has been exciting, Croce has noticed some major differences between UConn and Jonathan Law.

“One of the biggest differences is that you have to be more independent,” Croce said. “You are responsible for keeping track of your own work and making sure you are getting everything done.”

Even though Croce is enjoying her new life at UConn, she still misses parts of her time at Jonathan Law.

“I miss seeing all my friends every day and being able to talk to my teachers,” Croce said.
