SAVE Promise Club is determined to bring students together this school year through activities and events that promote safety and mental health.
The club’s new Presidents – seniors Aislyn McKernan, August Oliveira, and Avery Oliveira – are planning to start off the school year with a fun but educational spirit week.
“I am excited for Start With Hello Week as it is a fun way to get the whole school involved with the club while spreading awareness about mental health,” August Oliveira said. “Last year the spirit week consisted of name tags, hot cocoa, therapy dog Winston, sunglasses, and Law merch.”
Many are excited to experience what the club has to offer. Junior Peyton Kondor explained why the club is meaningful to her.
“This year I am most looking forward to doing even more spirit weeks and being more involved with the club,” Kondor said.
SAVE Promise Club hopes to ensure students are confident knowing that they are supported and valued at Law.
“The main goal of SAVE Promise Club is to help promote inclusive school communities,” Advisor Mrs. Bregoli said. “We do this by spreading positivity and kindness, to help build a safer and happier environment.”
McKernan described the range of topics the club covers.
“SAVE is different from other clubs at our school because we focus on multiple things,” McKernan said. “We are not only a club that advocates against violence and speaks up for the victims of schools like Sandy Hook, but we also dive into mental health and bullying.”
Junior Ella Aoki shared her advice for any new students considering joining SAVE Promise Club.
“It is a great way to be involved in school and even make new friends,” Aoki said. “The club also holds and creates lots of events that cheer people up which is something that makes me proud to be a part of.”
