The Jonathan Law girls lacrosse team wrapped up their season last week with their final game against Lauralton Hall.
The girls finished their season with a record of 3-13. Sophomore standout Emma Heinmiller expressed the improvements she is proud of her team for making, and the improvements she still hopes to see.
“Something I think we did well this year was slowing down our attack and being able to set something up to be able to score a goal,” Heinmiller said. “Something I think we can work on is our defense and communicating how we are doing things by being able to lock down the other team’s offense.”
The team was able to get some exciting wins as players watched their team spirit grow and watched the team thrive as they worked collaboratively.
“My favorite memory from this season was when we won our first game against West Haven,” sophomore Rainey Haramis said. “It was special because we were able to work together as a team and celebrate all together after the win.”
Haramis was also pleased with how her teammates lifted each other up throughout the season, and looks forward to their communication continuing to drive them towards success.
“One thing our team did really well this year was cheering each other on and supporting them even when the outcome wasn’t what we planned,” Haramis said. “One thing I think we can do more of is consistent communication on both defense and attack so that we can all work as a team on the field.”
The seniors got a special win to close out their Law lacrosse career as their strong work ethic resulted in a flurry of goals that night.
“My favorite memory of the season was Senior Night when we were able to win and we were able to work as a team and almost everyone got a chance to score a goal for the first time,” Heinmiller said.
