5 QUESTIONS WITH…Senior Thomas Genova
By Addison Schwing – Editorial and News Editor
Thomas “TJ” Genova is a senior who is ending his high school career on a high note. Genova has been a part of both the Law football team and both the indoor and outdoor track teams for all four years. Advocate Editorial and News Editor Addison Schwing met with Genova to discuss his plans post-high school.
Addison Schwing: What are your plans after graduating?
Thomas Genova: Assuming that the virus doesn’t delay anything, I’m leaving for Fort Sill on July 7th for Army basic training and I’ll stay there from July all the way until November for basic training and my individual job training.
AS: What is your intended major?
TG: As of right now, I do plan on going to online school while in the Army, but I haven’t decided on anything right now. When I join the army I will be a crew member for an M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), which is essentially a gigantic truck that shoots missiles. The Military Occupational Specialty designation for this role is 13 Mike.
AS: What have you been doing to pass the time at home during quarantine?
TG: I’ve been playing video games and talking with friends over Discord or Facetime. I’ve also been working for WCD Estate Sales doing clean outs and working sales.
AS: What movies and shows have you been watching lately?
TG: I have really only been watching “Ridiculousness” at like 1 in the morning because I’m bored or trying to sleep, or “Law and Order.”
AS: What would you like to say to your fellow classmates?
TG: I would like to thank everyone that I’ve met for making these the best four years. I wish you all the best of luck wherever you’re going and that you keep in touch with your friends.
