Last year, Jonathan Law gained a new, talented wrestler.

This year Kevin Brocksom went All-State.

Brocksom was a key member this season of the wrestling team, which went 17-15 with five State Open qualifiers.

Teammates said Brocksom’s hospitable attitude made him a great fit for the team.

“Kevin is always there to cheer us on during our matches,” junior Ronnie Spangler said.

Law’s wrestling team is a way for boys to explore their strengths and form a brotherhood that lasts forever. Brocksom was an important part of that.

“If I ever need help with my techniques during practice I can count on Kevin to help me out,’” junior Jack Pincus-Coyle said.

Brocksom’s leadership is recognized by not only his teammates, but by his coach as well.

“Kevin is a good leader because he works very hard on and off the mat,” assistant coach Mr. Ruzbarsky said.

The team fell short of their overall goal of 20 wins, but are still optimistic for their upcoming season.

“Despite our record, our team is thankful that we have Kevin for next season,” sophomore Aisaiah Rodriguez said.

Brocksom’s teammates were excited when they found out he went All-State.

“Since we are so close, Kevin making All-State is also our victory,” junior Cole Egersheim said.

Rodriguez believes that Brocksom is a great fit for captain, and hopes to have many more victories with him.

“He’s a great leader and I’m very lucky to be co-captains with him,” Rodriguez said.

Regardless of his victories this season, Kevin’s humble personality has him wanting to excel further.

“I plan on taking first or seconds at Opens and placing at New Englands,” Brocksom said.
