Every year, the senior class dreads the thought of preparing for college.

From the application process to finding a roommate, challenges come from each and every task.

The National Honor Society, though, does something to help students take a break and learn from the experiences of some Law alumni. Their annual Welcome Back Graduates presentation was held on January 9 in the senior café.

“It’s great to see some familiar faces back and Law,” said senior Rachel Hannan, “especially when their telling us about their experiences and giving us great advice.”

The 11 students that came back gave much advice on their roommates, classes, and the infamous college cafeterias.

Not only were seniors invited to this event, but many juniors came to get a head start on the college process.

“I never really knew what to expect about the college experience,” said junior Brooke Bonetti. “It gave me a great understanding about how their lives change and how their dealing with everything.”

The Law alumni currently go to different types of college, from arts schools to tech schools. One alumnus, Class of 2010 graduate Virginia Orman, took two years off to travel the world and volunteer.

“I always thought that when most people take a year off they just sit around doing nothing,” said senior Nolan Rourke. “But I never knew the different things and different organizations you can join.”

Each alumnus gave great advice on how to deal with the change from high school to college, but the greatest advice was to always go to class.

“I never realized that by skipping a college class your wasting your money,” said senior Morgan Stevens. “I’ll definitely be going to every class.”

Some alumni loved their roommates, and some hated them. Some said that Greek life will help incoming students with homework as well as help them find a college family.

With the long college process starting for many juniors and seniors, the help of these Law alumni will hopefully make the change easier.
