Jonathan Law’s band always had a strong reputation as one of the best bands in the state, and it continues to do so.
All of Law’s band members are working extra hard this week while they prepare for their first home show on Saturday, October 27.
This year’s band members are young, consisting of mostly freshmen and sophomores.
“Everyone’s doing really good and trying their best,” said senior Anna Plasky. “Everyone should come to our home show on Saturday and support us.”
Two weeks ago, the band tied for first place with Brookfield High School at a show in Bethel, and they placed third at a competition in Shelton a week ago.
Law’s color guard also got best guard award at the Shelton show.
“It’s a great opportunity to come and see what we’ve been working on,” said senior Adam Weber. “Come out Saturday night and watch us, perform along with other bands.”
This Saturday, Law’s band will not compete for a title, but they will still get a score to see if they improved.
Jonathan Law’s band teacher is Mr. Marino.
“(The kids) are working hard and they’ve improved dramatically since the beginning of the year,” Marino said.
The show is this Saturday from 6-9 p.m. on the football field at Jonathan Law.
Marino hopes to see everyone go to the home show on Saturday and see all the hard work that the band has been putting in to make this a great show for everyone attending.
