After the success of it predecessor, did “Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows” live up to its hype?

In this sequel, Robert Downey Jr. once again takes on the lead role of Sherlock Holmes, with his assistant Dr. John Watson, played by Jude Law.

As Dr. Watson is about to get married, it ends the partnership between him and Sherlock Holmes. Depressed, Sherlock Holmes spends his time investigating the plans of his nemesis, Professor James Moriarty, played by Jared Harris.

When the Professor warns Holmes that Dr. Watson is his next target, Holmes does everything he can to get Dr. Watson involved in the case.

They team up with the Roma lady Madam Simza Heron’s mission to find her lost brother, Renee, who can help defeat Professor Moriarty.

The trio finds themselves in many difficult situations, such as an international conspiracy led by the Napoleon of Crime in which the fate of all Europe hangs in the balance.

From start to finish, this movie is surprisingly entertaining. Those who did not see the first movie might not know what to expect from the sequel.

There were many funny parts in the movie, like the scene where Holmes dresses as a woman. There were other scenes that found rather odd, like when Holmes throws Dr. Watson’s fiancé, Mary Watson, played by Kelly Reilly, off of the train, even though it was to save her life. There are also some fast action scenes, like when Holmes’ true identity was exposed at the beginning of the movie.
