SPORTS: Volleyball Falls To Sacred Heart, Ends Season
By Kevin Langan – Sports Editor
The Law girls’ volleyball traveled to Sacred Heart Academy on Wednesday, October 26, to take on the Pacers.
It was a win or-go-home game for the Lady Lawmen. If they were to win, they would not only qualify for SCCs, but states as well.
The Lady Lawmen dropped the first set of a best of five 25-12. Then they went on to drop the second set 25-22 before battling back to win the third set 25-21.
After a hard battled fourth set, the Lady Lawmen lost the fourth and final se,t 26-24.
Seniors Jackie Kochiss and Tiffany Nantel combined for 12 kills and 36 digs. Olivia Herbert added seven digs.
The Lady Lawmen ended their season with a 7-11 record.
Losing was a tough pill to swallow for the team’s seniors, but returning members of the team said it will be a reason to come out next season with a chip on their shoulder.
For the season, the Lady Lawmen accumulated over 180 aces with Kochiss leading that category. They also accumulated nearly 800 digs in more than 60 games this season.
The Lady Lawmen also had an over 90 percent serving accuracy on the season, which proved to be their backbone throughout their run.
As another season comes and goes, the Lady Lawmen will hopefully return to their once great place in the SCC.
