ENTERTAINMENT: Fans Anticipate Next Installment Of ‘Modern Warfare’ Trilogy
By Bryan Creevy – Entertainment Editor
What gamers all over the world have been craving since November 10, 2009, when the second installment was released is finally just around the corner.
“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” is set to be released on November 8 for Xbox360, Playstation 3, Microsoft Windows, and the Wii.
The single player campaign of MW3 is said to start off exactly where the last ended with the main character injured and being carried away to a helicopter. Later on what is supposed to be World War III will occur where the same characters are out to kill Vladimir Makarov, a Russian Ultranationalist who had a part in MW2 who General Shepherd was setting out to kill at all costs.
The improved Multiplayer mode is also supposed to be promising. With three different lists of killstreaks with new killstreaks, new guns, snipers as secondaries, land mines, all new attachments, and new game modes, MW3’s multiplayer looks like it might be the best one yet out of the series.
Special Ops mode is also returning from its debut in Mw2 except now it’s been improved. There are two modes in Spec Ops: Survival Mode and the original mode where you gain stars for completing challenges.
Survival Mode is a two player co-op mode where you and your friend play in one of the multiplayer maps holding off waves of infantry. With killstreaks and all sorts of waves coming at you, it sounds like a whole lot of fun.
Upon its release date, MW3 will most likely beat its predecessor in copies sold in 24 hours of 4.7 million.
